How the map works

One principle: one entity = one node. Category pages show the same card, not copies.

A Uniswap card is not duplicated under DeFi, Markets, and Organizations. It is one card with parent paths and relationships. Category screens ask the graph; they do not fork the page.

Cards

A card has a type (Person, Organization, Protocol, Technology, Concept, Event, …), a name, descriptions, optional token symbol, dates, tags, image/banner, highlights, and relationships to other cards.

Placement uses a checkbox tree over the live Atlas. You check every branch path where the card should appear. A card can sit on multiple paths. Continent roots alone are not a valid placement for a new entity.

The Atlas search panel matches name, descriptions, tags, keywords, and type. Exact or prefix name hits rank first. Search replaces the current tree level.

Claimed-first and fallen heroes

  • People cards with a claim tier can sort claimed first
  • Cards marked defunct get fallen-hero treatment — history stays; they are not pretended live

Adding and editing

Signed-in members (depending on contribution mode) use Add + when drilled into a branch. Edits go to the queue unless you are a privileged publisher. See Add an Atlas card.
