Principles of truth

ChronoBlock can only be the industry's map if people trust what is on it. These rules are product decisions, not slogans.

Skip rather than invent

ChronoBlock and Assist omit a date, handle, holiday, poll, or card field rather than fabricate it. A missing fact is better than a confident wrong one.

High-signal Timeline

Timeline posts come from established newsrooms, domain experts, KOLs, and recognized thought leaders. A well-written anonymous thread does not become a post. Consistency beats volume.

One entity, one card

The Atlas is a graph: one node per entity. Category pages show the same card, not copies. Duplicate cards are a bug.

Placement is required

Every new Atlas entity must sit on at least one real taxonomy branch (for example People > Founders), not a continent root alone. If nothing fits, the card is not published.

Every Timeline Topic stores at least one real sector. If nothing fits, the sector is Others. Hot! is never stored as a tag.

Sources, dates, categories

Contributions are checked for valid sources, accurate dates, the right category, and clarity. Rejection reasons are explicit (title, description, date, source, category, relevance, thumbnail, or a written other).

X handles are sacred

A wrong Twitter/X handle on a People card lets the wrong person claim it. ChronoBlock will not invent handles. Missing is better than wrong.

Humans decide what ships

Community submissions go through the pending queue unless a privileged role publishes directly. Reviewers decide what ships; automated checks never auto-approve member work.

Assist cites ChronoBlock first

When Assist finds Atlas, Timeline, or calendar sources, it answers from ChronoBlock only. An Internet search result appears only if ChronoBlock has nothing on the question. Internet text is never padded into a ChronoBlock list or labeled as ChronoBlock knowledge.

Money does not buy the map

Partners can buy attention on Focus of the Day, promo quests, and Hot Deals. They cannot buy a higher Atlas rank, a fake highlight, or a Timeline sector. See Trust and quality.

Corrections

If a card or Topic is wrong, contributors can edit (queued), owners of claimed cards can flag issues, and staff can correct immediately. Defunct projects are marked fallen, not quietly deleted from history.
